The People's Coalition for Police Accountability and Amnesty International

Will hold a public hearing concerning police accountability and racial profiling on Thursday March 15th, 6:30-9 pm, St. Paul's Baptist Church, 6611 Walker Mill Road. Confirmed guests include: Senator Paul Pinsky, Delegate Rushern Baker, Jonathan Hutto (Amnesty International), Greg Shaffer, Edythe Hall (NAACP) and Dr. Alvin Thornton. Other invited guests include: Governor Glendening, County Executive Wayne Curry, Police Chief John Farrell, FOP President Rodney Bartlett and Congressman Albert Wynn.

The hearing will be a chance for community members to ask those in power some hard questions and for elected officails and local community activists to address the problem of police misconduct and give an open and honest discussion centered around solutions to the problems which effect Prince George's County.

Below, are directions to the church:

St. Paul Baptist Church, located at 6611 Walker Mill Road in Capital Heights, Maryland.

If you are coming from the beltway, get off at the exit for Central Avenue going west back into the District. Take Central Avenue down to the corner of Central Avenue and Addison Road. Make a left, take Addison Road pass the Addisson Road Metro which will be on your left and you will see the church on the left once you pass the McDonalds. The church is about 100 yards from McDonalds and it is housed in an old Safeway supermarket. If you are coming from DC, take Pennsylvania Ave East to SilverHill Road. Make a left on SilverHill Road, cross Marlboro Pike and you will see the church in a converted Safeway supermarket. If you are riding Metro, take the Blue line to the Addison Road Metro stop. Once you get there, the P-12 or the V-12 bus will take you directly to the church. Be sure to ask the bus driver where to let you off.
